What Is Your Book The Funeral Director’s Wife about?
The Funeral Director’s Wife is, to put it simply, about revenge. A freshly graduated college student begins making horrible decisions to get back at her ex, and it spirals from there. (I don’t want to give too much away, but I’ve been told it has GONE GIRL x Dateline vibes.)
Why did you decide to publish your book with Conquest Publishing? How was your querying experience with them?
My querying experience with them was unique. I was very nervous as I’d been rejected by agents and a few small presses and wasn’t sure my book would align with ANYONE’S goals, including Conquest’s, but within 24 hours of submitting, I had a contract in my inbox (I know it usually takes a few weeks to a few months, so please don’t think this is the norm.) I decided to go with them because of everything they have to offer. I really liked their marketing goals and how dedicated the owner, Ms. McMunn, truly is.
How has your publishing experience with Conquest Publishing been (so far)?
It’s been nothing short of amazing (not to be dramatic). I have an entire author community supporting me including Ms. McMunn, who I affectionately call my fairy godmother. Anything I ask, she either makes it happen or does her best to make it happen. For instance, I casually mentioned I wanted my book to be an audiobook, and BAM - she had narrators auditioning. I wanted the news at my book launch party, and she did her very best (although the news didn’t show up, even after multiple people requested them). She even drove 6.5 hours to attend my book launch party!
Would you recommend Conquest Publishing to other writers?
Oh my gosh, yes! Instead of being a number at a giant corporation, you are an AUTHOR who is part of an amazing community of people who are rooting for you. They have an amazing team of book designers, publicists, marketers, etc, who will make you feel right at home.
